Monad Mainnet now has 300ms block times and 600ms finality

As of 10:30 am ET on July 23, 2026, Monad mainnet produces a new block every 300 milliseconds and reaches deterministic finality in 600 milliseconds, an improvement over the previous 400 ms block times and 800 ms finality.
Faster blocks and faster finality make Monad more responsive for everyone building on and transacting on the network.

What changed
MonadBFT finalizes every block in two slots, so finality tracks directly with block time. Bringing block times down to 300 ms brings deterministic finality to 600 ms. Transactions are now included and irreversibly settled in well under a second, with predictable performance even under heavy load.
Why it matters
For users, interactions feel instant. Swaps, transfers, and trades confirm faster, and the gap between hitting "confirm" and seeing a settled result keeps shrinking.
For developers, shorter block times and sub-second finality mean tighter feedback loops and more headroom to design real-time, interactive onchain experiences, without having to build around slow or uncertain settlement.
Faster finality, better payments
Finality speed matters especially for payments. Stablecoin cards, for example, have to check balances, authorize, and settle inside a card network's tight authorization window. Sub-second deterministic finality lets issuers build card-native flows directly onchain instead of working around the chain.
